phật có con mắt thứ 3, có thể nhìn thấy hết chúng sanh, một câu nói của phật dành cho tất cả chúng sinh, nuôi chúng lớn lên, bao la rộng lớn nhiều ý nghĩa mà mỗi chúng sanh hiểu mỗi khác, nhưng cả triệu người đều được lợi ích từ câu nói hay cử chỉ của phật đó

It simply means he can use his two eyes almost as if he has one thousand eyes. You know my eyes: I have ten thousand eyes, and I look into every one of you. You may not know, you may not find it out, but I am watching continuously at the deepest core of your being. It is a metaphor: the awakened one has one thousand hands. Can you see in my two hands, ten thousand hands? The metaphor simply means that a master, just with two hands, manages to work almost as if he has a thousand hands. He works on thousands of disciples. He is the greatest creator in the world. He does not paint, he does not play the guitar, he does not sing. But what he creates is... he peels every disciple, uncovers the hidden treasure at the very center of every living being. His two hands are not just two hands, because he is working on thousands of people -- hence the metaphor. But there are idiots who will not understand metaphors, who will try to find out, "Is it true?" They want facts. As far as facts are concerned, Buddha has only two eyes and two hands, but as far as truth is concerned, he has ten thousand eyes and ten thousand hands. To see what the tree contains one should look at the fruit of the tree; the fruit is decisive. If one awakened master creates a tremendous atmosphere in which unlit souls become afire, with his two hands he is doing miracles. With his two eyes he is looking in thousands of souls to awaken them. But it is a truth, it is not a factuality. You cannot take a photograph of it.
Ma-yu asked Rinzai, "THE GREAT COMPASSIONATE ONE HAS A THOUSAND HANDS AND A THOUSAND EYES. WHICH IS THE TRUE EYE?" "In one thousand eyes," he is asking, "which is the true eye?" He is behaving just like an average, blind, sleepy, unconscious human being, because those thousands of eyes are nothing but reflections of the one eye that is just in the middle of your two eyebrows. We have called it the third eye. These two eyes look outwards, that third eye looks inwards; that is the true eye. But that true eye can function on a thousand people, on ten thousand people, on ten million people. The master never gives you any carbon copy; all are as authentic as the original. He always shares with you the original, the authentic. His clarity, his vision, is so vast that millions can share it. That is the meaning of the metaphor. But the stupid persons would always ask questions about metaphors. They don't understand that there are things which cannot be said without metaphors -- and those are the great things and great experiences in life, which cannot be expressed without metaphors, without poetry, without symbols.

We should consider the fact that the metaphors are complicated not only in the normal literature (i.e. poetry, prose) but also in religious expressions. The (religious) enlightenment should be achieved correctly and comprehensively. The best way for our Lyso fellows, therefore, is reading and understanding by our mother language. In my opinion, Nilegem should insert translate parts along with native paragraphs for the purpose of understanding. Thanks a lot!

Cái "metaphors" - tạm dịch là "phép ẩn dụ" trong văn xuôi, thơ ca bình dân cũng đã khó hình dung rồi, huống hồ liên quan đến tôn giáo thì lại còn cao siêu hơn. Muốn đạt được sự giác ngộ thì trước tiên chúng ta phải hiểu đúng, hiểu thấu đáo các chân lý. Mà cách tốt nhất cho đa số anh chị em tại diễn đàn này là đọc hiểu bằng tiếng mẹ đẻ. Thiết nghĩ bác Nilegem nên có phần dịch sang tiếng Việt để mọi người có thể đọc và cùng giác ngộ. Cám ơn bác!

Con mắt thứ 3 còn tượng chưng cho sự giác ngộ, bên Ấn Độ giờ họ vẫn còn phong tục chấm điển hồng ở giữa 2 lông mày đó. Tượng Phật người ta khi đúc cũng hay vẽ thêm 1 điểm hồng ở ấn đường.
Bên đạo gia trung hoa cũng có pháp tu quán tưởng về Thượng đan điền-Nê hoan cung-huỳnh đình là điểm giữa 2 đường lông mày.
Bên các đạo sĩ yoga, vị trí ấn đường là luân xa thứ 6-con mắt thứ 3 có vai trò rất quan trọng trong hệ thống 7 luân xa. Tìm hiểu mấy sách sách vở vở thì mới thấy Đông Tây tuy tên gọi khác nhau nhưng nhiều cái lại là chung một lối.
