Giống như chiêm tinh học phương Tây phân loại con người thành các cung lửa, không khí, nước và đất, Tử Vi chia họ thành năm
nhóm tương ứng với năm nguyên tố trên trời là đất,
kim loại, nước, gỗ và lửa. Những phân loại này được gọi là
Cục
Bản thân các Cục rất quan trọng trong việc đưa ra dự đoán về ngày sinh. Vì mỗi ngôi sao và mỗi cung đều có một ký hiệu nguyên tố, nên sự tương tác giữa các nguyên tố tạo thành cơ sở cho

Tien Tong A very joyful event will occur within the family
circle. One might marry, get a good job or make
some other change for the better. It is propitious
to start a new business or career this year. If the
star is functioning as a bad star the family fortune
will decline.
Dien Chung Be cautious regarding any signs of disease or injuries. One's life may even be at risk. If a woman
gives birth to a baby this could be difficult, even
dangerous. If this star is manifesting as a good
star one will have an increase in salary and perhaps even promotion.
Tien Hu This will be an auspicious and good year. Everything will go smoothly.
Moon One will experience romantic love. Property and
estate holdings are likely to increase. If the star is

A man might conquer his wife. A woman in
labour might have a hard delivery. If this star
manifests auspiciously one will have unexpected
good fortune.

There is an interaction between the stars and the houses. The
rules given in Tables 1 and 2 apply here also. Thus, if a bad star
is conquered by the house, it will not show the bad effect and
might even end up having a good effect. Suppose that the adverse
star Tang Dang (wood) is in an i or j house (both of which are
metal); the star will be conquered and will not show its bad
effect. If a good star is conquered by the house, it will not show its
good effect; it might even show a bad effect.
There are interactions between the stars too. For example, if
both the Sun (fire) and Chi Sa (metal) are in a d house (wood), the
Sun will conquer Chi Sa, and the power of Chi Sa will become
weak. Also, the power of the Sun becomes more powerful because the house d (wood) generates fire, which is the power of
the Sun. In the interpretation of this example, the manifest a148

tions of the Sun should be given extra emphasis while those of Chi
Sa may be considered as being without effect.
